Detailed profiles for bank accounts, Payees and portfolio accounts

Continuing the great work done for “More detailed transaction fields”, it would be useful to add more detailed fields to bank accounts, payees, and portfolio profiles, similar to how this is handled in Firefly III, which I’m moving from. These would mainly be descriptive fields, useful for keeping payment information in one place. They could also potentially be used for import/export actions, although I’m not sure how yet. For bank accounts, this could include: IBAN BIC/SWIFT Account number Notes Attachments For payees, it could also be useful to have fields for other payment methods, for example: PayPal username/email Venmo username Other payment-service identifiers The same approach could also be applied to portfolio profiles, with fields relevant to the type of portfolio. If you have other fields in mind that could be useful, feel free to add them.

Credit Utilization widget

There is a bug in the credit usage widget: when you have a positive balance, it shows 100% of the credit as used, even though I have $1 in credit.

Tag investment accounts as portfolios

I am self hosting the container and importing data using simplefin, I would like to be able to tag a account from my connections as it being a portfolio/investment account. That way we can have an automated way to track investments. This would mean we would track transactions for each ticker, cost basis and amount of that ticker held in the account right? Is this possible with the current implementation or would this be an enhancement?

Customised Investment

The current investment module can only track portfolios with formal stock tickers. It would be very helpful to allow users to create manual investment items within an investment portfolio. This can serve the purposes of: 1) tracking investment items which don’t have tickers (like US T-bills); 2) tracking pension funds etc which are not traded in the public market. Otherwise we are “forced” to keep these items under the “Bank/Asset” segment, then the calculation of investment performance, FIRE etc are not correct.

Error while attempting to translate

Hello. When attempting to continue translating the files, I get this error; I contacted technical support but haven't received a reply. Perhaps you can figure out what the problem is?

Saved Views for Transactions: Everyday filters at one click

The Transactions page has great filters, but every time I sit down to review my money, I rebuild the same combinations by hand. Mine, several times a week: Category = "Other" → give each one its real category Tag = "to review" → check, fix, remove the tag Tag = "Reimbursable" → has the money come back yet? Account = X and amount over N → look at the big ones Each one takes 4–6 clicks, and it's easy to get one wrong: forget the account, pick the wrong tag, mistype the amount. A wrong filter doesn't look wrong. It just quietly hides the thing you were looking for. And when the tab closes, the filters are gone. The proposal: Saved Views A Views menu next to the filters on the Transactions page: Save the current filters (and sorting) as a named view. Apply a view with one click. All of its filters are set at once, replacing whatever was there. Manage views: see which filters each one uses, rename it, update it with the current filters, reorder, delete. Relative dates stay relative. A view saved with "Last 3 months" means the last 3 months whenever you open it, not the dates from the day you saved it. Nice to have: A count next to each view ("To review · 12"), so views work as a to-do list. A default view that opens with the page. Why it matters Speed: the reviews you do every week become one click. Consistency: you define a filter once and it's right every time, with no forgotten or mistyped conditions. In a household or a small business, everyone uses the same definition of "to review". Inbox zero for your finances: views like "Uncategorized", "To review" or "Awaiting refund" turn the Transactions page into a workflow: open the view, clear it, done. It already exists in the product: the Pivot report has Saved Views. This brings the same idea to the page where most of us spend most of our time.

Match transfers using the bank’s value date when booking is delayed

MoneyMatter currently matches transfers between connected accounts when the expense and income have the same amount and currency and their transaction dates are within three days. I have a recurring transfer from Erste bank to Revolut that this rule misses. The Revolut income is dated day D. Erste records the matching expense on D+4, but supplies day D as its value date. Both transactions are booked, yet they remain an expense and an income instead of one transfer. Please keep the current date matching as the first attempt. When it finds no match, consider the bank’s value date as a fallback. Only link the transactions if they are booked, have the same amount and currency, and each has exactly one eligible counterpart. If the bank supplies a counterparty IBAN that conflicts with the proposed match, do not link them. Ambiguous matches should remain for manual review. This fallback should affect matching only.

Feature request: automation action for transfers between named accounts

Repeated top-ups from the user's Erste Bank account to the user's Revolut bank account should be recognized as transfers automatically, including cases the generic amount/date matcher misses. Requested rule shape (illustrative): WHEN all: receiving account = Revolut transaction type = income (optional) note contains "Top-Up by" # no card digits in the rule or this report source account = Erste THEN: link the matching Erste expense and Revolut income as a transfer A review tag does not solve this: the unmatched Revolut deposit still counts as income.

Loading older transactions using bank sync

The app currently doesn't allow users to load older transactions when they first connect a bank using bank sync. It shows the message: "Cannot load transactions before account link date." We already have a Merge Duplicate Transactions option in the Data Connection tab which can be used if someone has manually added older transactions.

Support for Money Lent to Others

Add support for loans that the user gives to other people, in addition to loans that the user owes. For example, if I lend someone $1,000, I should be able to record it as a loan receivable and track the outstanding amount. This would make the existing loan functionality work in both directions: money borrowed by the user and money lent by the user.

Support for Custom / Unsupported Stocks

Allow users to manually add stocks that are not available in the supported market data providers. For example, a user may want to track a local stock that is not currently available in the stock search or price database. Ideally, the user should be able to: Add a custom stock with the same functionality. Enter the stock name, ticker, market/exchange, and currency manually. Manually enter and update the stock price instead of relying on automatic price data. Track purchases, sales, holdings, portfolio value, and performance in the same way as supported stocks. This would be especially useful for users investing in smaller or regional markets that may not be covered by the current data providers. I am from Egypt

Spend Dashboard Panel

We're missing a spending panel in the dashboard. This panel would show how much we've spent in the current month/range and what is expected to be spent during the remaining period using a dotted line based on either the 3 month average or the previous month's spending data. The current Balance Trend panel represents networth and could easily be out of sync with actual spending, especially when using multiple currencies. Sample panel screenshot:

Automated Emergency Fund "Health Score" & Dynamic Sizing

The Concept: Intelligent buffers that scale with your actual lifestyle costs. How It Works: Rather than using a static arbitrary savings target, MoneyMatter continuously calculates your rolling 3-month average living expenses. It provides a real-time Emergency Fund Health Score (e.g., Current savings cover 4.2 months of essential expenses) and dynamically adjusts your target goal as your cost of living shifts.

Gamified Savings Streaks & Milestone Badges

The Concept: Behavioral reinforcement to make sticking to a budget rewarding and engaging. How It Works: Introduce optional, lighthearted gamification elements—such as "Under Budget Streaks" for specific categories (e.g., staying under your grocery limit 3 months in a row), savings milestones, and achievement badges that celebrate financial consistency without feeling childish.
