Dashboard Enhancements 🚀
We already have a good dashboard but I think it could be enhanced with more widgets and improved design. Since the dashboard already supports customizable widgets, users could choose which widgets they want to display and arrange them according to their needs. I have some ideas for new widgets as well as some future widgets that could be added once the corresponding functionality becomes available such as FIRE calculations, life milestones and financial goals. I’ve also attached a sample dashboard created with the help of AI using an MCP connection which is another great feature of the app. I’ve posted comments about most of these widgets in different posts but I think it’s time to consolidate all the ideas in one place. Suggested Widgets Net Worth – Current net worth with 6 / 12 month projections. Net Worth Distribution – Distribution across assets and liabilities. Net Worth by Currency – Net worth distribution by currency. Financial Goals – Goals with target amounts, target dates and progress tracking. (TBD) FIRE Progress – FIRE progress and estimated target date. (TBD) Mortgage & LTV – Current mortgage balance and Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio. Budget – Budget overview based on tags or categories. Portfolio – Portfolio distribution and growth. Top Gainers & Losers – Top-performing and worst-performing investment funds across different time periods. Life Milestones – A timeline showing important financial and life milestones. (TBD) Financial Health Score – An overall financial score based on factors such as age, region, income, expenses, savings, investments, debt, and other available financial data. The score could also be benchmarked against relevant regional or age group data to give users a better understanding of their overall financial health. Once again, kudos to the app and its developers for already providing so many great functionalities. It’s really hard to find these many useful features together in a single app. 👏
Financial Health Score
It would be great to have an overall Financial Health Score displayed on the main dashboard. This score could give users a quick understanding of their current financial situation by considering things like savings, expenses, debt, investments and net worth. A simple breakdown of the score with areas that are doing well and areas that need improvement would help users make better financial decisions. Sample screenshot is attached.
Real Estate worth tracking
Widget Budgets in Homepage
Widget with list of budgets with info of the percent used and net and the possibilities content of planned transactions
Retirement Planning
It would be good to have a Retirement Planning section where we can see how our future income and expenses are expected to be planned. For example, we could see how our monthly expenses would be covered by our investments, pensions and other accounts. We could also include life events, such as buying a car or flat, children’s education, etc., in the projection chart, along with Monte Carlo simulations and FIRE calculations.
Mortgage enhancement
We need to enhance the mortgage section and its related features. There should be a historical visualization showing how the split between interest payments and principal repayments has evolved over time. My monthly mortgage payment consists of both interest and principal repayment. I’m currently splitting the transaction into two parts but I can’t link the principal repayment part to the mortgage account. It only allows me to transfer or link the full transaction amount.
Interactive Brokers full data import
Full securities, dividends and cash operations import. Possibly with a wizard step/screen to map deposits/withdrawals with existing transactions in the system, so money won’t come from nowhere and go to nowhere. Overall current AI import should be able to handle it, but a dedicated flow can provide a much more smooth UX. No import of options or futures simply because app doesn’t support it.
Portfolio Analytics
A portfolio analytics dashboard would provide users with deeper insights into their investments. Showing asset allocation, sector and geographic exposure and overall portfolio performance would make it much easier to understand diversification and identify areas that may need rebalancing.

Saved Views for Transactions: Everyday filters at one click
The Transactions page has great filters, but every time I sit down to review my money, I rebuild the same combinations by hand. Mine, several times a week: Category = "Other" → give each one its real category Tag = "to review" → check, fix, remove the tag Tag = "Reimbursable" → has the money come back yet? Account = X and amount over N → look at the big ones Each one takes 4–6 clicks, and it's easy to get one wrong: forget the account, pick the wrong tag, mistype the amount. A wrong filter doesn't look wrong. It just quietly hides the thing you were looking for. And when the tab closes, the filters are gone. The proposal: Saved Views A Views menu next to the filters on the Transactions page: Save the current filters (and sorting) as a named view. Apply a view with one click. All of its filters are set at once, replacing whatever was there. Manage views: see which filters each one uses, rename it, update it with the current filters, reorder, delete. Relative dates stay relative. A view saved with "Last 3 months" means the last 3 months whenever you open it, not the dates from the day you saved it. Nice to have: A count next to each view ("To review · 12"), so views work as a to-do list. A default view that opens with the page. Why it matters Speed: the reviews you do every week become one click. Consistency: you define a filter once and it's right every time, with no forgotten or mistyped conditions. In a household or a small business, everyone uses the same definition of "to review". Inbox zero for your finances: views like "Uncategorized", "To review" or "Awaiting refund" turn the Transactions page into a workflow: open the view, clear it, done. It already exists in the product: the Pivot report has Saved Views. This brings the same idea to the page where most of us spend most of our time.

iOS native app
Rich Budgeting Functionality
Transform budgeting from passive tracking to active spending control. This epic encompasses all features needed to help users not just track where money went, but actively prevent overspending before it happens. Includes: Budget Alerts, Category-Linked Budgets, Recurring Budgets, Safe to Spend indicators, Spending Pace tracking, Envelope Mode, and Goals Integration. As part of this feature, we can close this ones: https://moneymatter.featurebase.app/p/widget-budgets-in-homepage
Financial Goals
Please add a Financial Goals section where we can plan and track both short term and long term goals, such as buying a car, saving for a flat down payment, taking a foreign vacation, etc. Each goal could have a target amount (either a fixed amount or a percentage of one or more accounts), a target date and progress tracking so we can see how close we are to achieving the goal.
Tag-based budgeting
I'd be really interested in is the ability to set budgets by labels/tags

FIRE Calculator
A built-in FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) calculator would be a great addition to MoneyMatter. It could estimate when a user might reach financial independence based on their current investments, savings rate, annual expenses and expected investment returns. This would make MoneyMatter useful not only for tracking finances but also for planning long-term financial goals.
More detailed transaction fields
It would be great to add more detailed fields to transactions, similar to how this is handled in Firefly III, in addition to the existing general notes field. For example: Attachments — Allow users to attach documents such as train tickets, boarding passes, invoices, receipts, or other relevant files to a transaction. GPS location — Store the location where a transaction took place. This could be especially useful when shopping at different branches of the same grocery or retail chain. External URL — Add a link to an external page related to the transaction, such as an e-shop order page, booking confirmation, or marketplace listing. External references — Allow users to store an external order number, invoice number, booking reference, or another identifier associated with the transaction. These fields would make transactions much more useful as a complete record of a purchase, while keeping the existing general notes field for free-form information.
Automatic rules
Auto-categorize transactions using keyword/regex patterns - save time on manual categorization. Features: • Rule management page with creation/edit/delete • Keywords or regex patterns with preview/test tool • Filter by transaction type (income/expense/both) • Auto-assign categories or convert to transfers • First-match-wins precedence • Apply to specific accounts or all accounts • Only affects auto-imported transactions (bank sync/manual import) Rules match against: description, notes, merchant name Case-insensitive matching with efficient regex timeouts Future: Bulk application to historical transactions, ML-suggested rules, rule templates.
Bank Transactions Reconciliation Screen
Currently, the app doesn't have any interface to reconcile a bad bank sync, so there might be duplicates that are impossible to revert, mark as "duplicate," merge, or otherwise fix Transactions → Optimizations could include one more tool: Transactions Reconciliation. A screen with a list of transactions where users can select two legs and mark them as a single transaction – deciding which one is the real one, while the other is soft-deleted
Inline editing of transactions
It would be useful to support inline editing directly from the Transactions table, reducing the need to open the transaction modal for simple changes. For example, clicking an editable cell could switch it into the appropriate editor: Date: date/calendar picker Category: dropdown/search using the existing categories in the current realm Account: dropdown/search using existing accounts Payee: dropdown/search using existing payees Amount: numeric/currency input Note: simple text input The change could be saved when pressing Enter, selecting a value, or clicking outside the cell, with Esc cancelling the edit. This would make reviewing and correcting multiple transactions significantly faster, especially when only one field needs to be changed. The existing transaction modal could remain available for more complex edits.
Apply automations on existing transactions
I’m currently unable to use AI options and I couldn’t find an option to apply automations to existing transactions. It works if I delete my account and all transactions but it would be helpful if automations can be applied to existing transactions as well.
Assign logo to accounts
Manual accounts usually still represent actual banks or specific apps. Without an assigned logo, it's often quite difficult to find the account you're looking for in a list of others. The app already has a good "Logo or Initials" implementation for Subscriptions and Payees – the same functionality can be reused for accounts, so that in the dropdowns, the sidebar, and a dedicated page it will be easier to distinguish the account you're looking for from the rest. The same logic can be applied for the accounts groups.
Recurring income
Option to enter recurring income (salaries, etc.)
